Day 87: why people have an instinctive need to be be "richer" or greedy

"Why do people always want to amass material things and stop at nothing to
get more
and more, never satisfied?"

Life is always greener on the other side. Your friend has Prada or Gucci
bag. I admire
or maybe are even envious of her. You vow to yourself
that you will one day get a Prada or Gucci bag.
You always want
what you don't have. Someone else always has something better
than you. Maybe you don't appreciate what you have? Maybe you
take it for granted?

Is money the root of all evil? Some kids kill their parents for the
insurance money. That's greedy.
I don't know what it is about
greed. It is a evil trait that some people possess.
They just
want more and more. It is never enough for them. It may be a
status symbol.
It maybe a chance to life the high life with
the mansions, cars and beautiful women.
They want to be
better than their friends and family. They want to be known
as the wealthy one.

Some people think that material things make them happy.
"If I get that purse, I will be happier." If I buy myself that car,
I will be happier."
They may believe that money will
buy them happiness. Money will get you more opportunities,
which may cause you to be temporary happy.

They want to be richer because they don't want to struggle
with money. Maybe it's not about how much money
you have but how you handle your money?
Maybe
they see their parents struggle with earning money
and they don't want to go thru the same situation.

They want to easily earn the money and spend the money.
They can then buy themselves all the things they wanted.
Maybe it's a symbol of freedom?
They can go anywhere anytime.
